Story Illustration

working my way through another illustration. It all started with some storyboards I started drawing up for a small project.

The arm of a dodgy salesman wrapped around gullible innocence seemed to tell a great story.

A new value study

Just a new value study because it's been too long since I did anything in Photoshop.
And here's the rough working out.

City Illustrations

I sometimes like to do small write ups to build a story on what I draw.

...the city, firmly established on injustice and inequality is covered under the guise of law and order.
The poor build their makeshift havens scarce enough to shelter a kitten. Up north of the city the wealthy ramble the streets, for many of them, time will come to halt as they sip their Guava coffees under a visible sky.
Those who stand between wealth and poverty work at the markets, they consider themselves too poor to be well off but thank the good Lord that they don’t lay with the destitute...

Rough sketches done in Photoshop.

Sermon Illustrations

Illustrations for Chuch sermon presentations, the imagery had to clearly communicate the theme of each topic. Very fun and yet very challenging.

Feeling Overwhelmed

Church sleeps whilst the world looks for answers to the storms of life.

The penny in the machine won't drop until you bang the side.

2nd 3D experiment

My Second 3D experiment started with B&W sketches.

I setup my cameras and camera animations with basic models

Another rough sketch is painted on top of the screenshot above.

I unfolded the mesh for the room and all of its objects, and paint the textures on the UV. The AVI quality was quite low so I decided to render the camera animations frame by frame. I then put the frames into Adobe Premier Pro.

I also painted 2D objects on top of a single frame and animated the 2D objects in
Premiere Pro.

The Result: Good, I like it!
This experiment is only 15 seconds long, lighting effects were done in Adobe After Effects.
I even played with place holder audio using Max Mclean's narration of the NIV Bible and Final Fantasy XII music by Hitoshi Sakimoto
